A magnitude 8.0 quake hit off of the island of America Samoa at 6:48 a.m. local time Tuesday, September 29, 2009. Following the earthquake, the island was struck by a tsunami with waves that reached up to 15 to 20 feet high. The tsunami was responsible for many deaths and major devastation of infrastructure across the region.

Immediately after the disaster struck and at the request of our longtime client and friend, Rep. Eni Faleomavaega, Territorial Delegate to US Congress, Solvere One principle, Greg Roney, traveled with the Representative and his staff across the island to assess damage and facilitate federal assistance. The team was responsible for delivering SATCOM gear and providing access to mobile computers and digital solutions to the many communities across the island.
